Treasures in Heaven- Youth Ministry

Posted by on

As disciples of Jesus we have been commissioned by Christ to go into the world to make disciples, to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and to teach them to obey everything He has commanded. As the family of God, it is our great privilege to teach the children, youth and families who the Lord has entrusted to our care. Jesus demonstrates how important children are when He taught the disciples to, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Our Family Ministry exists to help children, students, and families connect with God, with one another, and with the world through Christ. As we consider our 2018 Stewardship Theme of “Treasures in Heaven”, we are grateful to this church family for investing time, talents and treasures to support and nurture our Family Ministry. Your “Treasures in Heaven” enable us to provide quality children’s and youth programs both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. We have the opportunity to share Christ to our Academy students through weekly Chapel and Christian Education classes as well as proclaiming the gospel and building leaders at Palm Desert Charter Middle School helping them to connect with God.

Our youth help lead in worship and work alongside the ushers Sunday mornings, enforcing in them that this is their church and they can serve God here together with their older brothers and sisters in the faith.  We have created fellowship events that encourage the young people to build relationships with the adults that are outside of their immediate families, helping to connect with one another.

Children and youth also have opportunities to learn to serve, through giving to the Deacon’s Closet, Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, serving at The Narrow Door, and the Coachella Valley Christmas Store enabling them to connect to the world.

All this in the name of Jesus Christ!
