Generations of Generosity

Posted by on

Our 2019 Stewardship theme is “Generations of Generosity.”  It is based upon Psalm 145 that says (in part),

Great is the Lord!  He is most worthy of praise.  Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power…and your wonderful miracles.  For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.  You rule throughout all generations.”

And then in 1st Timothy Paul clearly and strongly instructs his young follower who had been delegated to work with the Church at Ephesus that he should

“Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable.  Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.  Tell them to use their money to do good.  They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.  By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.”

What a message for us at PDCPC as we prepare to celebrate our 70thanniversary as a congregation this weekend and as we prepare to make our financial and personal commitment to the great ministries and missions we pursue in praising and honoring God and serving His people in a myriad of ways.

Believing and banding together from one generation to another in generous giving of time, talent and treasure will assure we continue to flourish and grow in fellowship, faith and service. Our goals are lofty, as they should be in committing ourselves to share the love, mercy and peace of God.

THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19 IS COMMITMENT SUNDAY.   Please bring your pledge cards with you to worship, or drop them at the church office anytime before then.  We have a faith budget goal that requires at least a 13% increase in our overall giving.

Please prayerfully consider what you can pledge to support our growth in WORSHIP (Reverent, Biblically based preaching and music,) GROW (growing in discipleship and leadership) and SERVE Ministries (Local, National and International Missions; Congregational Ministries and Caring Ministries – Stephen Ministry, Deacons, Kairos, Read With Me, Olive Crest, Senior Ministry, Grief Share, etc).

You will find below, a series of videos we did for this year's "Generations of Generosity" campaign, that highlight a few of the ministries your financial support undergirds. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for partnering with us in ministry!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the church office at 760.346.8195. Extra pledge cards are available in the church office, or in the pews this Sunday morning. Filling out and turning in your pledge card helps us to plan more responsibly for the upcoming year. We appreciate you taking the time to do so!
