[The Blog] @PDCPC - Meet Ryan Schmall

Meet Ryan Schmall

Posted by on

Ryan has been doing Student Ministry for over 10 years. He lived in Northern California his entire life until he moved to beautiful Palm Desert this past November. He loves creating space for people to ask questions and be honest about their journey and is excited to help people discover their value and belonging in Christ. He is also a self-admitted nerd and owns it. Just ask him to talk about Marvel and you’ll find out.

Ryan is married to Jeanette and they have three daughters- Delaney (8), Olivia (5), and Norah (3).

Ryan’s hobbies include listenting to and creating podcasts, drawing, working out, watching and studying film, becoming a pit master on the smoker, and hanging out with his friends and family. His favorite local restaurant is Yogurtland (even though it’s not exactly a “restaurant”) and his ideal vacation would be a trip to the Disney Parks around the world, especially Tokyo.

In addition to his ministry in the local church, Ryan enjoys being a core blogger for Youth Specialties. He also leads the core blogger seminars at the National Youth Workers Convention.

"It’s incredibly exciting to be a part of a church that’s moving- active and ready for what God has in store for us."

-Ryan, on being at PDCPC during this season of the church's life.

When asked what he hopes people learn about God through his ministry he said, “I believe God created each and every one of us on purpose and with so much value. He looks at each of us and is so deeply proud of who he created in us and wants us to lean fully into that reality. He wants you to be fully you - the you He created! He meets us where we’re at because He desires for us to know that we belong and matter to Him. That’s good news!”

Ryan will be leading our Family Ministries while specifically focusing on our Ministry to Students in grades 6-12.

Please join us in welcoming Ryan and the entire Schmall family to PDCPC! You can find Ryan at church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, or you can email him at
