"Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others." 1 Timothy 6:18

Stewardship

As we are richly blessed by God, we must be "Ready to Share" to meet many needs, whether they be in his church, this valley, this country or somewhere in this world.

Sharing our financial resources is essential, of course, as these are the means by which we compensate our pastors and staff, maintain our facilities, and implement our many programs. Equally important are the resources of our God-given time and talents that allow us to serve the Lord Jesus in so many ways.

Are you ready to share? To make a commitment of your time, talents and finances? To see our own church grow, to address the needs of God's people and see his will be done?

Please take the time to review this information and prayerfully consider your response.
Where We're Headed
(estimated expenses for 2008)
  Amount % of Total
Worship $470,600 26%
Nurture $398,200 22%
Congregational LIfe $289,600 16%
Outreach $217,200 12%
Facilities Support $434,400 24%
Total* $1,810,000
* Pending Session approval; represents a 4.6% increase over 2007
As you can see, the pie chart above indicates the dollar range of pledges from 2007. Of all these commitments, 50% were for pledges of less than $1,000. Only 12% (50 individuals or families) were for $5,000 or more.

It's likely that some if not many of us could increase our commitment for 2008. You know, regular visits to your favorite coffee house can run more than $500 a year. Imagine how that same amount from each individual or family could alter the pie chart and make an enormous difference in our ability to enhance the ministries of our Church.

The Old Testament directs us to tithe (10% of one's income or possessions). The New Testament encourages us to give generously in accordance with the grace we have received.

As you reflect on your commitment for 2008, be encouraged and guided by the words - "rich in good works, generous to those in need, always ready to share."
